Seattle City Attorney Tom Carr withdrew the subpoenas he had issued in an effort to force three Seattle Times reporters to reveal their confidential sources for a series of stories about police misconduct. Carr, who heads the governor’s open government commission, quickly drew criticism. Gov. Christine Gregoire said she was “troubled” by the action. (12/6/07)
