The Evansville (Ind) Courier Press reports that its man in Congress, Rep. Brad Ellsworth, won’t release any information on budget earmarks he presses for but fails to get. Said Ellsworth: “People who meet with me or my staff (in pursuit of federal money) do it in the expectation that their requests are going to be private until the money has been appropriated, and it becomes public record at that point.” The paper did note that their representative is representative of Congress as a whole in that regard.
