It isn’t just the public that finds it difficult to get information from state and federal governments about dams, electric utilities or other structures in their areas — whether for safety, environmental or political concerns, the Associated Press reports in a story that recounts the efforts of a county commissioner in Wyoming official who never could get a complete answer about the safety of Jackson Lake Dam from the federal Bureau of Reclamation. The “nonsensitive” version of the engineering report he was given didn’t answer his questions. (12/5/04)
