Former CBS anchorman Dan Rather argued Tuesday that he should be able to file an amended complaint against his former employer for breach of contract, after New York Judge Ira Gammerman dismissed four of his seven initial claims against the network on April 10.

Rather sued CBS for $70 million in September 2007, more than a year after he left the network. Gammerman said Rather was too late in filing a portion of his suit and also noted that some of his claims were unsubstantiated.
