Defense Lawyer Admits Leak, Balco Reporters Escape Prison Time

Two San Francisco Chronicle reporters who had been found in contempt of court for refusing to reveal their sources on stories about a grand jury investigation of steroid use by baseball players will not go to jail. A criminal defense lawyer agreed to plead guilty to leaking secret grand jury documents that was the basis for their stories. The attorney reached a deal with prosecutors to serve a two year andpay a $250,000 fine. (2/15/07)
