Denver decided not to appeal a court order to release police internal affairs files related to surveillance of two community activists. The city had admitted that police improperly spied on the couple, who run an organization called “Cop Watch” that reports on the behavior of department members. The court ruling prevents the city from making blanket denials for open records requests of police internal investigation files. (1/25/06)
