A bill that requires all compensation packages for executives at the California university systems to be voted in open session was unanimously approved by an Assembly committee. It has already been approved by the Senate and needs only full Assembly approval to go to the governor. The bill follows a series of audits and lawsuits over secret compensation packages. (7/23/07)
