The Electronic Frontier Foundation sued the Department of Justice, asking for records involving the FBI’s “Investigative Data Warehouse.” The FBI had not responded to two FOIA requests for records on the criteria used in creating the database and on the privacy policy protecting that information. The database, which combines financial, biographical and photo information, was developed for use in anti-terrorism investigations. (11/6/06)
