Federal Communications Commission officials have leaked information to lobbyists and corporate insiders, giving them an advantage in regulatory decision-making cases, the The Government Accountability Office said in a report. The GAO studied four decisions between 2002 and 2006. Rep. Edward Markey, D-MA, who requested the study, said the leaking puts the public and consumers, are at “an inherent disadvantage” to “corporate insiders and the K-Street crowd.” (10/4/07)
