A federal appeals court ordered a U.S. district judge to unseal key records in a lawsuit accusing an Alabama coal company’s Colombian arm in the slayings of three labor union leaders in the South American nation. The sealing of the records was challenged by a journalism teacher. The appeals court also overturned a contempt fine against the plantiff’s lawyers for allegedly leading a case document to a Miami Herald reporter. (3/15/07)
