Missouri’s Attorney General Jay Nixon says getting records under the federal Freedom of Information Act is “a pain in the neck.” He told the Associated Press the law needs an overhaul. Nixon has sued, unsuccessfully, to get records involving the Missouri River and submitted a request on another issue in early February but has heard nothing, despite a “20-day” response provision in the federal law.
