A grand jury indicted the Munroe Regional Health System in Ocala, FL on two misdemeanor counts of breaking state public records and open meetings laws while searching for a new chief executive. “Evasive devices were repeatedly used in an attempt to frustrate the purposes of both the Public Records and Sunshine Laws,” the grand jury said, adding, “We are concerned that if such extreme measures were taken to avoid public scrutiny in this matter, they may have been used, or may be used, in other aspects of the hospital’s operation.” (10/2/06)
