Because of a Freedom of Information request, the state of New York dropped charges against a man imprisoned for murder 15 years ago. The man’s request for his own records turned up documents, not made available at the time of trial, pointing to another suspect who, when confronted with the evidence, committed suicide. (3/6/07)
