FOIAed Records Show Why Teachers Were Fired

When the Madison, Ill, school board fired four elementary teachers but wouldn’t say why, KSDK-TV got copies of the disciplinary hearings through the Freedom of Information Act. Three accused of “engaging in a conspiracy against the district” had made 80 fourth graders stand against their lockers during recess because they were loud and unruly during lunch. They said the “locker time discipline” was not unusual at the school. (2/23/06)
