Jeb Bush appears to have taken a page from his brother’s operations manual. The Florida governor ignored his state’s Government in the Sunshine Law by meeting privately with 20 Republican members of the House and Senate on his plan to redo the public education system. “Not everything has to be open” he told two reporters barred from the meeting. Based on the comments of several legislators, the fine line the governor drew between the law and the meeting may be that he and the lawmakers didn’t discuss policy, just how to gain support for the policy.
