Saying “secrecy will kill our government,” presidential candidate Mike Gravel, the former Democratic senator from Alaska, has promised a much more open administration that has been witnessed in Washington in recent years. In fact, he’s pledging a quantum leap it’s not likely he’ll be asked to make: “If I become president, one of the things I will do — 95 percent of what the government hides, I will release it.” (1/4/08)
