Several Hawaii lawmakers say they are considering the introduction of a reporters-source shield bill in next year’s session, a move prompted by efforts by a landowner who has subpoenaed a conservative Web site reporter to testify in a suit he brought against the state and private companies involved in operation of the Kaloko dam. A key provision in the proposed legislation would be the definition of a journalist. (7/23/07)
