The State of Illinois has contracted with a health care firm to provide mail-order prescription drugs for nearly a quarter-million state government workers and their families. Now the firm, Caremark, is claiming that the contract keeps details of the deal confidential, including how much the state must pay the company for each 90-day prescription delivered. The company sought a restraining order when two legislators filed a FOIA request with the state comptroller’s office. A judge will hear the case next month. (1/25/05)
