Military and State Department officials turned down Salt Lake Tribune requests made in Washington, Baghdad and Kuwait for comprehensive lists of elected U.S. officials who have visited Iraq, despite the fact that most individual trips are well publicized and those trips are cited in daily press briefings. A Defense Department spokesman said the information wouldn’t even be available through a Freedom of Information Act request. (4/25/06)
