The House overwhelmingly approved a bill that would allow the presiding judge in federal district and appellate courts to allow the televising of trials and appeals hearings. It does not affect the Supreme Court. The “Sunshine” provision was added to the Secure Access to Justice and Court Act and the combined bill approved 375-45. The bill now goes to the Senate, which is considering similar legislation. (11/15/05)
