The House passed the Intelligence Authorization Bill (HR 5020), believed to top $40 billion, with a provision that presses the administration to block the pensions of government leakers and a “sense of Congress” resolution that attacks the media for publishing leaked information. In the resolution, offered by Rep. Rick Renzi, R-AZ) the Congress “finds” that “media corporations and journalists have improperly profited financially from publishing purported unauthorized disclosures of classified information.” It calls on the president to use his constitutional powers to act against leakers of classified information.
