Intel Directors Ask Court to Overturn Its Guantanamo Records Ruling

In new filings, the directors of the CIA, FBI and National Security Agency told a federal appeals court that a July ruling requiring disclosure of government records on Guantanamo detainees will cause “exceptionally grade damage to the national security.” CIA Director Michael Hayden said the records “would include information about virtually every weapon in the C.I.A.’s arsenal” and would cause information sources to stop cooperating. The administration wants the court to overturn its earlier ruling. (9/12/07)
