A legislative panel will hold the first in a series of hearings on Iowa’s open records and meetings laws and on agency practices aimed at avoidance. “Frankly, there’s been a number of abuses in a number of venues and that begs for change,” said state Sen. Michael Connolly, a Dubuque Democrat who heads the committee. (9/4/07)
