The Reporters Committee for Freedom of the Press has started a daily journal of homeland security developments on its Web site. “Behind the Homefront” is a “Weblog” of leads, tips and reporting being done elsewhere.

The Weblog eventually will become a detailed archive of how the Department of Homeland Security developed and what level of access to information was allowed during the War on Terrorism.

The Reporters Committee hopes that journalists and others using this new tool also will contribute suggestions and stories to make this a valuable tool for those covering homeland security issues.

The project can be found online at www.rcfp.org/behindthehomefront.
