Judge Orders Report on Chicago Police Torture Made Public

A Criminal Court judge in Chicago ruled that the report on a four-year, multimillion-dollar investigation into allegations of Chicago Police Department torture must be released to the public, whose right to know trumps the privacy rights of police officers involved. “This Court opts on the side of public disclosure and finds the public’s right to be informed of the results of this exhaustive investigation outweighs the privacy rights of the individual officers,” Juged Paul Biebel wrote.
