A judge has rejected a Kansas reporter’s effort to delay being compelled to testify about her interview with a murder suspect, The Associated Press reported.

District Judge Daniel Love said Jan. 4 that Dodge City Globe reporter Claire O’Brien was unlikely to win her argument on appeal and ordered her to comply with the subpoena to testify in the upcoming inquisition — much like a grand jury proceeding — of Sam Bonilla, which could take place as early as next week.

O’Brien’s attorney told the judge he was not asking for an indefinite delay, merely requesting more time to file an appeal with the Kansas Court of Appeals.

"I am not sure exactly how far I am going to go at this point," O’Brien told the AP.
