Wildlands CPR, a conservation group won a two-year battle with the U.S. Forest Service when it agreed to waive the fee it wanted to charge for records on damage caused by off-road vehicles and unmaintained roads in Western national forests. Before the settlement, Federal District Judge Fred Donald Molly said in hearing remarks aimed at the agency, “I really think that there’s some games being played here. And frankly, I’m sick of it.” (10/18/07)
