Two federal judges in San Francisco hearing a lawsuit seeking access to the Presidential Daily Briefs prepared for the President Johnson during the Vietnam War by the CIA expressed doubts about whether the process is too sensitive for public scrutiny, at least after 40 years. “It doesn’t compute for me,” said Judge Pamela Ann Rymer of the 9th Circuit Court of Appeals. And Judge Raymond Fisher commented that many of the reports had already been made public or at least talked about. (7/11/07)
