The CIA released a preliminary round of previously classified documents containing information on enhanced interrogation techniques to watchdog group Judicial Watch on Tuesday, the organization said in a press release.

The documents, which were obtained through a Freedom of Information Act lawsuit that was filed against the CIA in 2009, showed that at least 68 lawmakers were briefed on torture during the questioning of suspected terrorists from 2001 to 2007, Reuters reported.

The U.S. District Court in Washington, D.C., ordered the CIA to turn over to Judicial Watch all requested documents by April 15.
