A Kentucky judge granted The Louisville Courier-Journal’s request to make public the juvenile record of a man now charged with murder. Jefferson District Judge Angela McCormick Bisig made the decision so the public can determine whether the homicide charges against Kenneth Eastridge for killing a neighbor when he was a child were handled properly.

Eastridge has been charged with killing a fellow soldier in Colorado Springs. He was convicted of reckless homicide for shooting and killing Billy Bowman when both boys were 12. Bisig said that the public interest in the original case behooved her to open the file.
