State Rep. Jim Gooch is pushing legislation which would classify editorial writers and cartoonists as lobbyists, who, under Kentucky law, are barred from the House and Senate floors while lawmakers are in session. The Kentucky Press Association has called Gooch’s bill an obvious violation of the First Amendment. (2/07/08)
