Call it a closed door policy for open government. Kentucky Gov. Steve Beshear says he wants to shed the appearance of secrecy created by his predecessor, who installed a secret door, enabling him to slip out the back of the office suite. Breshear promises not to use the door, and maybe to have it taken out and plastered over. “We’re going to be running an open government, a transparent government and a government where the governor is going to be accessible to the people,” he said.
