Michigan is about to enact a law exempting from public disclosure personal information about those who hold concealed weapons permits. The bill passed the senate 32-5. A slightly different version had passed the House 104-0. It provides that the name, address and birth date of the permit holder is exempt from the Freedom of Information Act. Police would still have access to the information. (6/14/06)
