The Army and Marine Corps have awarded the Silver Star to about 350 men and women in the last six years, but the narrative accounts of their acts of heroism are kept from the public. The military claims release would pose a threat to the privacy and safety of service members. Rep. John T. Salazar , D-CO, has filed legislation to make the accounts public. (12/11/07)
