Minnesota’s courts have initiated online public-access to a version of the system it uses to track and manage cases. The system will provide basic, docket information but has a number of built in protections for personal privacy. For instance, the system allows searches of criminal defendants by name — but only after there has been a conviction.   And citizens will still have to go to the courthouse to get a case file.  (11/27/07)
