Mississippi Hospital’s Invoice for Three Information Bits: $1355

It would appear the University of Mississippi Medical Center doesn’t want to share budget information with the Jackson Clarion Ledger. It advised the paper that its request for three simple pieces of information – the number of budgeted positions and current vacancies and vacancies five years ago – would cost $1,355.35 to research. The hospital said it would take two highly paid budget department employees 15 hours to gather the information. (7/25/07)
