Missouri’s Attorney General Jay Nixon advised that e-mails sent on the state computer system are public records. His memo, sent to media outlets, follows reports that Gov. Matt Blunt’s staff did not consider e-mails public record and routinely deleted them. A spokesman for the AG said the memo was sent to avoid “unnecessary debate.” (9/25/07)
