Montgomery Paper Sues School Board for Teacher Discipline Records

The Montgomery Advertiser sued the county school board when it failed to release the names of employees placed on administrative leave. The request followed reports that a local high school’s athletic director and an unnamed employee had been placed on leave. “We are focusing on the issue of establishing the notion that public records should be open,” Executive Editor Wanda Lloyd said. “Parents and others have the right to know how schools are being managed.” (2/17/05)
