The state of North Carolina has urged a Superior Court not to restrict public access to court documents in a legal dispute between Wal-Mart and the state’s Department of Revenue. Wal-Mart moved to have the files sealed after the Wall Street Journal posted online information on its use of tax shelters created an “unreasonable and undue annoyance.” Not a good enough reason to bypass the law, the state said.
