California Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger signed into law a measure that requires regents of the California university systems to vote in open meetings on pay packages for top university officials. The new law was adopted unanimously by both the Senate and State Assembly. It also requires that regents give the public an opportunity to comment on any proposed salary changes. (10/23/07)
