North Carolina Establishes Broad-based Sunshine Center

North Carolina open government advocates, working with Elon University, have established a new Sunshine Center to study and promote the state’s access laws and freedom of information. The center, which will become the academic home of the North Carolina Government Coalition, brings together diverse organizations such as the state press and library associations, the Lt. Governor’s office, the League of Women Voters, the League of Municipalities, media companies, the John Locke and Z. Smith Reynolds Foundations, and journalism schools at leading universities.
