Two months after it barred the public from reviewing inspection records at the nation’s 103 nuclear power plants, the Nuclear Regulatory Commission suddenly closed internet access to more than 700,000 documents. The NRC said it had been gradually removing “potentially sensitive information” since 9/11. Critics said the agency seemed to be reacting to an NBC report saying that documents terrorists could use still remained on the site. (10/30/04)
