New York’s Ethics Commission has subpoenaed a reporter as part of its investigation into whether Gov. Eliot Spitzer improperly used state police to gather information about political opponent, Senate majority leader Sen. Joseph L. Bruno. A lawyer for Albany Times Union reporter James Odato, who broke the story on Bruno’s use of state helicopters, said he would not cooperate. (8/20/07)
