New York Lawmakers apprroved an expansion of the state’s Freedom of Information Law to allow people who sue to obtain public records to recover attorney’s fees if a court finds their request was denied without cause or was wrongly delayed. The measure would give records custodians 20 days to respond. (5/22/06)
