Obama Wants Tech Czar to Ensure Government Meetings Are Webcast

The San Jose Mercury News reports that Sen. Barack Obama, in a campaign appearance at Google, will propose a national technology czar whose main task will be to get government commissions to hold more open meetings and to webcast them, also making relevant documents available for downloading on the website. The chief technology officer would also encourage blogging to communicate policy to citizens. (11/14/07)
