Ohio’s new law on access to concealed weapons permit records is causing a lot of confusion, even before going into effect. The law says reporters may view but not copy permit records. Some legislators say that means reporters can’t take notes; others only that they cannot make a copy of the record. A spokesman for the attorney general calls the new law “sausage-making at its finest.” (9/11/07)
