The Oklahoma Supreme Court adopted new rules that halt public access to court records that are available on the Internet. The rules which go into effect June 10 will end online access to court documents, other than dockets. The court said the rules were intended to balance the privacy rights of individuals and the public’s right to information about the courts. Concerns about identity theft were a prime factor in the decision. (3/14/08)
