Open Government Group Suggests FOIA Improvement Steps

The Sunshine in Government Initiative, a media coalition working in support of open government legislation, has sent a letter to senior administration officials with recommendations for implementation of the President’s Executive Order calling on agencies to improve their service to information requesters under the Freedom of Information Act. The letter suggests steps to improve both external reporting on performance and an internal review to identify and expand agency “best practices.”
