Oregon Governor Signs Two Open Records Laws

Oregon’s governor signed into law two bills designed to accelerate the handling of public records requests and to release information that might be withheld under an attorney-client privilege claim. The first bill calls on agencies to respond “without delay” to records requests. The other calls for release of a condensed or summary version of information that could otherwise be withheld under attorney-client communications provisions. (6/25/07)
