Pennsylvania Agency Claims Travel Records Are Proprietary

Pennsylvania’s student loan agency gives out more than $400 million in state funds each year. It has also spend almost $900,000 in the past five years on annual retreats, one in California’s Napa Valley. Now it is has asked a court to block efforts of three reporters to look at travel expense records. The agency contends that not only are those legislative records – and exempt from the Right to Know Law – because the majority of its board members are legislators but that the information is also a trade secret.
